Getting Organized For The New Year

Yesterday while I was out with the Hubby ...We took the kids shopping so they could catch the after christmas sales....

I bought a larger jewelry box and a earring stand...I had more earrings than I thought because I'm going to have to go purchase another earring stand  next time I'm at the mall..Plus I forgot to get a stand for my bracelets...

I'm getting dressed now to head to Lowes so I can buy some shelves and closet orangizers...

I need to get my accessories , purses, etc...Organized....I have this thing about going in the New Year with a clean organized house...I already cleaned out and organized my hair products..

In my head I see a area that I can sit my accessories etc...Thats my lil corner....I don't have any ideas yet..But hopefully I can come up with something creative and girly for that space...
 will post pics over the next couple of days when I get finished...

I didn't forget...I have just been really busy...I thought I would take the time to say ..

Everyday Seems To Be A Bad Hair Day !!!

I didn't detangle yesterday like planned....I was just too tired...I ended up applying Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Conditioner to my hair from root to tips ...Making sure I covered my new growth well....Then I applied Kemi Oyl over the conditioner....I then applied some Castor Oil/almond oil to my scalp only...Covered my hair with a plastic cap and scarf and went to bed..

After I dropped off the kids at school...I jumped in the shower rinsed and cleaned my hair with Hair One...Jumped out the shower and sprayed my hair with Chi Keratin Mist..

Detangling was a breeze....

The problem came after it airdried and I couldn't style it for crap...My hair looked like a hot mess....The scarf method just didn't lay down my edges like normally...
I'm so happy that I didn't have to work or anything...

It may not have even been that bad....I'm just tired of wearing this bun !!!

This evening I put about 10 bantu knots in my hair and tomorrow I will put it in a high ponytail for the next couple of days....Hopefully it will come out decent looking....

Here are the results.....Everyday seems to be a bad hair day....I can't take the edges and nape...Blowing out my roots are not a option b/c of the gym ....Look at the kitchen ...The more gel or products I apply to it the more it draws up....Love my texture..But I need to do one look or the other...The 2 textures looks bad with me being in front of the camera and working behind the scences on different sets....Buns or out of the question and braids outs don't come out right this far into my stretch...

I really wanted to stretch for at least 4 months ...But ready to throw in the towel and relax by the new year when I return back to work....

Suggestions , ideas ...Anything you can give to make this stretch last longer would help.....

Doesn't look bad if you can't see the edges ans nape right !!!

Random

I'm thinking this stretch is going to be easy considering my hair is growing so slow....My hair grows so fast in the summer then completely slows up in the winter....

Its going to be easy to stretch it to Valentines Day or March...I have been co washing my hair like every other day b/c of my workouts...I have not de tangled in a about a week...I have just been smoothing the edges and outside parts for damp buns...I don't be playing when I say I leave my hair alone during stretches...Lol

Plus the rain over the weekend made it easy for me to stay out of my hair...I plan on deep conditioning , cleaning my hair with Hair One and de tangling tomorrow.....I know I'm going to pay for not de tangling in a week ....I just will  be in a mind set to take my time....

I had the urge to do a bantu knot set but theres no point when I will just sweat it out at the gym...I swear sometimes I feel like the gym takes away from some of the girly things I want to do...But I remind myself that it pays off in the long run....

Let me start by saying I HATED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS STUFF !!!
 
I really don't know where to start....Hmmmmmm...Ok so I deep conditioned with my Giovanni Smooth As Silk Conditioner and my hair felt amazing as usual....I love that stuff...I sprayed my hair with Chi Keratin like always ...I applied my Giovanni Direct Leave In...
 
Then I pulled out the Biosilk....I should have stopped after I opened the bottle and I thought I opened up a bottle of rubbing alcohol .....I'm really not over exaggerating...I've used many products that contain alcohol and you can smell a hint of alcohol...A hint ...Well this stuff smelled like a bottle of straight rubbing alcohol... 
 
Did I change my mind in using it ??? Well I almost did..This stuff got real scary all the sudden.....I knew that this stuff would eventually dry my hair out overtime...What I didn't know is that it would dry my hair out with the very first use...
 
So I applied the Biosilk to my hair and did 3 French braids for a braid out.....
 
It was so hard to sleep that night because the alcohol smell was burning my sinuses..I only used about a quater size amount to my hair....
 
Well the next morning I noticed that the alcohol smell had dissappeared and a smell I can't describe was left....
 
My braids felt soft to the touch and I thought this might not be to bad....When I unbraided the braids I was left with the worse braid out ever !!!!....There was like no wave pattern...But it was very soft to the touch...
 
By the time I got to the set ...My hair was huge !!!! I mean Diana Ross huge and it was drying out fast.....
 
I had some CHI Silk Infusion and applied it to my hair...It tamed the frizz so much...I pinned back the front so it would not be so big  ... I didn't have a pony tail holder..
 
And People love this stuff ???
 
Moral of the story ....What works for some ...Doesn't work for others..
 
Final thought .....
 
You couldn't pay me to use this stuff again....I will stick to my CHI Silk Infusion !!!

End Of My Pjism

We start our hair journey excited to try all these new products...Oh and lets hope you don't start a blog..Then here comes the product reveiws..We look up and find ourselves with cabinets , containers, and drawers full of hair products...

I didn't have the amount of products some women have ....Thank goodness...

I don't know if you remember...A few of months ago I talked about how I was trying to use up conditioners I didn't like by mixing them...Well between doctoring up conditioners & using them....Blessing others with products ...I have gotten rid of all those products..

I started off with 4 large bens of products...Well I'm now down to only 2 containers...1 Med. and 1 Small..

1 Medium ben is full of only a few types of conditioner..The Med. ben is only full because I have been stocking up on my current deep conditioners...But to look in it and see only a few types of conditioner makes me smile..

1 Small ben is my styling aids...You know Aloe Vera Gel, Mousse, hair spray, moisturizer, oils  etc...

I feel so much lighter....I feel wonderful to have gotten rid of all that junk...I feel organized ....Today ends my Pjism phase...Hahahaha ...

10 Weeks Into My Stretch

I'm in stretching mode now...This week started my 10th week of my stretch...

I go through so much conditioner when stretching...

So I went to Tj Maxx and stocked up on Giovanni, and Chi Products...

Thanks to all of you I have become addicted to TJ Maxx.. I'm there weekly trying to see what
hair products they have in....I haven't went crazy though...I have just been stocking up
on products that I'm already using..I love the fact that they carry the big bottles of my favorites..

Like Giovanni Smooth As Silk, Giovanni 50:50 , Chi Infra Treatment, Nexxus Humectress...

I also buy my Chi Silk Infusion, and Chi Keratin Mist from Tjmaxx .

I plan on stretching this time  to Valentines Day or my B-day which is the
2nd week of March...So none of the conditioner will go to waste between deep conditioning and
co washes..

 Protein, conditioning, moisturizing, and low manlipulation is what I do to get through the weeks..

I do plan straigtening at least once a month..Blow out my roots and flat iron (If weather allows)..
Other than that I plan on rocking braid outs, bantu knots and damp buns..

After You Reach Your Final Goal

I don't know if any of you noticed...I never update my Fotki now, or any of my pics for that matter...
I just gotten to the point where I've reached my all time ultimate goal..Now what ???

I used to take length shots for the excitement and hope of seeing if I made my next goal...Now I look in the mirror and I see I need a trim to maintain my length...

I'm happy with my current length ..Longer hair is more work ..Plus this length looks great with
my size...I have been keeping my hair cut right between WL and HL....

One thing I did promise myself is to enjoy all of my hard work ...Thats exactly what I have been doing..


My question is....Did anyone else feel this way after they reached their final goal

Back On Track !!!

I'm glad to say that my hair is back on track.....Like I was sharing before..Damp bunning was exactly what I needed...

I know some of you requested a video for damp bunning ...So I will try to do that this week...Trying hard to still update my blog and KISS even though I don't have a lot of time these days because of work..

Well I damp bunned like I said .....

When I took my bun down after I got home and let it finish drying my hair felt AMAZING....I'm so happy thats all I needed...I was making plans to baggy tonight....I will skip the bagging since my hair is responding well...

Tomorrow after I work out I will co wash and do another damp bun ....

My hair has just gone through so much abuse...I have flat ironed twice in the last 30 days and I have been wearing it out daily....I have been enjoying my hair to the fullest ...Being double processed only makes it worse..

Yet and still I'm listening to my hair ...Right now its asking for moisture and a break...So I will do what its says ... I do not want any set backs...
